A Jackson County Animal Shelter Adoption Family - Meet The Wardens!

Meet Lowell and Julie! They are no stranger to the Jackson County Animal Shelter.

They became a part of the shelter last year when a little guy was posted on the Jackson County Animal Shelter Petfinder Page.

His story:
A box of puppies was left on the side of the road during the Spring of 2012. The puppies were hit by a car! Luckily, someone found the box and brought them to the Jackson County Animal Shelter. Lowell and Julie read the story and immediately went to see them at their foster home.

"Once we met him, we knew he was going to be an addition to our family. He was so sweet and cuddly," said Julie.

Now named Sheldon, he enjoys playing with his other dog friends in Kenna, eating treats and sleeping in bed between Lowell and Julie. He is a true boy, as he's had several visits to the vet - he sliced his paw and had to get stitches and recently broke his foot! Good thing he has a Mom and Dad who love him so much! They always make sure their animals have immediate care.

Julie loved the staff at the Jackson County Animal Shelter so much that she decided to start volunteering. She visits and handles the social media and website for the shelter. She is also hosting a "Barktoberfest" this October in Ripley to benefit the shelter! While she was volunteering, she fell in love with this little guy:

Now named Wilson, or "Willy" for short, he has made himself at home. He sleeps on Julie's chest most nights and loves eating his kitten food, playing with toy mice and chasing the other cats. He loves his new home!

Adopting an animal from the shelter gives these amazing little creatures an opportunity to LIVE. They face every day hoping someone can find it in their heart to adopt them.

Can you welcome a new fur baby into your home? Follow the Warden's lead...adopt and save a life today!

If you can't adopt, make sure your pets are spayed and neutered and always spread the word about the importance of population control. Our goal is stop this epidemic of homeless animals!
